FOG ADVISORY accepts engagements by referral only. If you were pointed here by someone we know professionally, or you believe your situation fits what we do, the entry point is a thirty-minute introduction. We say yes to work we can deliver at our standard. We say no — with a referral where possible — to work we cannot.
Email is the reliable channel for initial contact. Phone reaches Takuya during Pacific business hours. Introduction requests through the panel to the right are logged and responded to within two business days.
If you email, a paragraph is more useful than a form. What kind of business, how far along, what the current pain point is, and who referred you or what brought you here. A prospective client saying "our books are two years behind and our banker just asked for a 12-month rolling forecast" tells us more than any structured form field could.
Our intake is deliberately calm and structured — no hard-sell, no urgency manufacturing, no promise to solve everything. The steps below are what every prospective engagement goes through.
Initial contact received. Logged. Reviewed within two business days.
We ask about the shape of the business, current state, what a good outcome looks like. No cost. No slide deck.
Within one business day, we say yes, no, or "here is a better fit." If yes, we outline a Diagnostic Sprint scope.
Fixed $4,000, four to six weeks. Full accounting-state read, systems audit, prioritized recommendations, Foundation-scoping proposal.
At Diagnostic close, both sides decide whether to proceed to Foundation. Approximately one in three does not. That is by design.
Because we operate the practice on top of primary professional commitments, our correspondence has a particular tone. Not slow, but not instant. Not effusive, but not curt. Below is what to reasonably expect.
Every initial contact receives a direct response from the founder within two Pacific business days. If travel or engagement demands intervene, a shorter acknowledgement is sent within one business day with a specific date for the fuller reply.
We do not soft-pedal a poor fit. If your situation is outside our scope, capacity, or intake criteria, we say so plainly and, where possible, name a better-suited peer. The alternative — polite deflection — wastes everyone's time.
The Diagnostic Sprint is mandatory only after both sides have decided that a full engagement is what you want. The introduction call carries no obligation to proceed to a Diagnostic. Occasionally, the right answer at introduction is "you don't need a Diagnostic — you need a bookkeeper," and we say so.
Send an email describing the situation. If it's a fit, we schedule the thirty-minute call. If it isn't, we say so and — where we can — point you toward someone better suited.
